Blessed Ceremony's
Unity Candle Ceremony

The Bride and Groom each take a tapered candle, which are then lit.  As they hold their individual candles, Reverend Debby speaks.

Reverend Debby:

groom and bride, the candle you are about to light is a candle of marriage.  Its fire is magical as it represents the light of two people in love.

This candle before you is a candle of commitment, as it takes two people working together to keep it aflame.

This candle is a candle of unity as both of you each give a spark of yourselves to create a new light.

This candle represents your lives from this moment on.  This single candle light represents your lives from now on, forever joined together.  May the radiance of this one light be a testimony of your marriage and a shining beacon of your love and your commitment to each other.

The Bride and Groom then light the center Unity candle with each of their candles in unison......they then gently blow out the flame of their individual candles, leaving the Unity Candle lit.
